IndieWire has received 10 nominations for the 2025 National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards, including Best Entertainment Website, which honors the contributions of the entire staff. Nine stories were also nominated in individual categories, with a mix of IndieWire staff members and freelance contributors being honored for their writing and video work on the site.

IndieWire Executive Producer Mary Pelloni and VP, Features Strategy Chris O’Falt are nominated in the Multimedia Package category for “Career Blueprint: It All Led to ‘Dune,’” which tracked the career of Denis Villeneuve.

IndieWire Digital Director Christian Blauvelt received a nomination in the Obituary/Appreciation, Film Personalities category for “David Lynch Dead at 78: The World’s Most Influential Filmmaker Redefined Cinema — and Became an Adjective.”

The 2026 Cannes Video Contest is presented by The American Pavilion and IndieWire’s Future of Filmmaking.

Freelance contributor Fred Schruers was also nominated in the same category for “Robert Towne Dead at 89: Legendary ‘Chinatown’ Screenwriter Was One of Hollywood’s Great Scribes.”

IndieWire Features Writer Jim Hemphill is nominated in the One-on-One Interview, Film Personalities category for “An Action Classic Turns 30: Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock, and Jan de Bont on ‘Speed’”

Mary Pelloni, Craft Editor Sarah Shachat, and Video Producer Trevor Wallace are nominated in the One-on-One Interview, TV/Streaming Personalities for “Why Netflix’s ‘Adolescence’ Had a ‘No Dicks’ Policy.”

Curation Editor Wilson Chapman is nominated in the Diversity in the TV/Streaming Industry category for “Ramy Youssef and Pam Brady on Tackling the War on Terror with Comedy in ‘#1 Happy Family USA.’“

Senior Editor Christian Zilko is nominated in the Personality Profile, Film Industry category for “Ari Aster Desperately Wants a Reason to Be Hopeful.”

Executive Editor Ryan Lattanzio is nominated in the Personality Profile, TV/Streaming Industry category for “Sarah Polley on Her ‘The Studio’ Cameo, the Myth of the ‘Mad Unwieldy Genius,’ and Alice Munro’s Complicated Legacy.”

Freelancer Leila Jordan Berger is nominated in the Film Feature, Production History — Above the Line creatives category for “Netflix Canceled the Release of a Gore Vidal Biopic Eight Years Ago — for the Filmmakers, the Story Isn’t Over.”

The 18th annual National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Award winners will be announced at a Los Angeles Press Club Gala on Sunday, December 7th.
