Emily Deahl has revealed on social media that she is now engaged to Hootie & The Blowfish’s Darius Rucker. The pair announced they were a couple in September after keeping their relationship under wraps, but now it seems like they’ve taken the next step in their romance.
This comes three months after Darius claimed he “can’t sing anymore” before abruptly ending his concert. The 59-year-old had to end his show in New Jersey after he lost his voice mid-performance.
Speaking to the crowd, he said, “Y’all, I can’t sing anymore,” before adding, “I’m going to play one more song. I promise you, we are going to figure this out. You’re going to get your money back.”
However, months later, Darius appears to be in a happier place as he and Emily announced their engagement via a sweet Instagram post. In it, the singer can be seen proposing to his now-fiancée on a boardwalk, and smiling as Emily showcases her huge diamond.
In the adorable post, Darius wrote, “Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known. The day I met you, I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to.”

Following the news of Emily and Darius’ engagement, she told fans about why the pair chose to keep their relationship a secret.
“I never intended on keeping this part of my life from you guys for so long… somewhere along the way of loving him I discovered how sacred love is to me… but damn I’m glad I don’t have to spend the time photoshopping him out of every photo now,” the 33-year-old wrote.
