Jen Affleck is one of 14 celebrity contestants who’ll be competing on season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars.”
Despite her last name, the 26-year-old is not related to movie star Ben Affleck. Jen is known for the Hulu reality TV show “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” which premiered in 2024. Season 2 was released in May.
Jen previously claimed that her husband, Zac Affleck, is a distant cousin of Ben’s, but Zac debunked that rumor during season 2 of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”
“No one’s ever taken it seriously until you ran with it,” Zac told Jen in an episode of the show, noting that his family told her they were related to Ben as a “joke.”

While she may not be spending Thanksgiving with Ben anytime soon, Jen did recently star in a Dunkin commercial with him.
“Expecting my cousin Ben? Nah, when Dunkin has something packed with amazing value, they bring me in. Jen Affleck, the value Affleck. Twice the personality, half the price,” she quips in the new ad for Dunkin’s $6 meal deal.
Ben shows up later in the commercial, going through the Dunkin drive-through and taking issue with Jen calling him old.
“Rude,” the Oscar winner says.
Jen told Us Weekly that she bonded with Ben’s daughter, Violet Affleck, on the set of the commercial.
“I don’t know if [Ben’s] watched [’The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’]. But his daughter has,” Jen said. “His daughter was there and she’s a huge fan. She’s like, ‘It’s OK, we can be related. As long as I’m related to Jen, we’re chilling.’”

The Dunkin ad’s premiere comes one day before season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars” kicks off on Tuesday, Sept. 16. Jen is partnered with new “DWTS” pro Jan Ravnik, who was previously a backup dancer on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
Jen’s “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” costar Whitney Leavitt is also competing on this season of “DWTS.” She’s paired with longtime pro Mark Ballas.
“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” follows a group of Utah-based TikTok influencers known as “MomTok.” The show has documented ups and downs in Jen and Zac’s marriage. During season 1, Zac threatened to divorce Jen for attending a Chippendale’s show with the MomTok group, alarming her friends and fans.

Jen and Zac, who share daughters Nora, 3, and Penelope, 2 months, and son Luca, 2, have since worked through many of their issues.
“It’s not easy being vulnerable as a Mormon and showing what actually happens sometimes in Mormon relationships. I feel like we’re doing the hard thing but doing the right thing by exposing what actually happens,” Jen said during a May appearance on the “Viall Files” podcast. “Hopefully people within the Mormon culture can look at our relationship and reflect on theirs and say, ‘Hey, I think we kind of struggle with that too. Or maybe my husband has fed into the patriarchy and isn’t treating me right.’ I want to be an example of that.”
“Dancing With the Stars” airs on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET beginning on Sept. 16. Episodes will be available to stream on Disney+ the day after they air.
