Following a two-year dry spell, Kacey Musgraves is teasing fans with new music.
Her most recent album, Deeper Well, was released March 15, 2024. Nearly two years later, the “Butterflies” singer is hinting at her next project.
On March 5, fans spotted posters and billboards across major U.S. cities, including Nashville, showing an image of Musgraves with her back to the camera and a message that reads, “Dry Spell? Call for a Real Good Time.”

After dialing 430-789‑9797, callers hear a three‑tone sequence, similar to what plays when a number has been misdialed or is out of service.
Then Kacey’s voice comes in.
“This is Kacey Musgraves and you’ve reached the middle of nowhere,” she says in a message. “No service available. Please try again later or press 1 for a really good time.”
A melody begins to play, followed by Musgraves singing, “It’s been a real long 335 days. And the last time it wasn’t good anyway. I’m so lonely. Lonely with a capital H, if you know what I mean. I’ve been sitting on the washing machine.”
The phone call then disconnects.

Once the call disconnects, fans are sent a text message. “Hi it’s Kacey. Click the link before you lose service.” Clicking the link then takes users to a page where they may register with their name and email address to receive more updates.
After signing up, fans receive a follow up message which reads: “Welcome to the Middle of Nowhere. Save my number. This is where the real ones get first word. XO, Kacey.”

All signs point to yes.
On March 5, Musgraves hinted at her upcoming album in a post to X. When a fan asked Musgraves if she “cares to share more about KM6.” Musgraves replied to that with a cow face emoji, similar to the cow featured on the posters.
