William Shatner was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after suffering a medical emergency.

Shatner, who is best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk on “Star Trek,” was reportedly experiencing issues with his blood sugar while in his Los Angeles home, according to TMZ. He first called emergency medical service workers for help, who sent an LAFD ambulance to his residence as a precaution.

Shatner was then taken to a local hospital for evaluation and later returned home. “He’s fine,” Shatner’s agent, Harry Gold, confirmed to the outlet.

The 94-year-old actor has been transparent with fans over the years regarding his health.

In March 2024, Shatner revealed that he had been diagnosed and was treated for stage 4 melanoma — an aggressive form of skin cancer that can spread to other parts of the body.

After noticing a lump under his right ear, Shater was initially told by his family doctor not to worry about it, he told Healio. A month later, he got a second opinion and was diagnosed.

“I said, ‘Stage 4?’ And someone in the room said, ‘Sorry.’ I said, “What are you sorry about?’ It was like, ‘Better pack your things.’ That person who said ‘sorry,’ that was very sad, like you are going to die,” he recalled. “And I was. They said if this [treatment] they used did not work, I had about 5 months,” he revealed.

The “Boston Legal” actor then underwent surgery to remove the lump and after adhereing to a strict immunotherapy regimen, he is now cancer-free.

Shatner also suffers from “permanent” tinnitus, or a constant ringing in the ears, after standing too close to a special effects explosion while filming the “Star Trek” episode “Arena” in 1967.
