Israeli musician Idan Raichel plays piano songs at Blue Note

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Israeli musician Idan Raichel will make his Hawaii debut with his show “Piano Songs” at the Blue Note Hawaii on Oct. 8.

Considered one of Israel’s most successful artists, Raichel composes and performs world music, and encourages a world of hope where artistic collaboration unifies people of different backgrounds and beliefs.

Raichel and Grammy-nominated, multi award-winning vocalist, guitarist, & songwriter Henry Kapono joined HNN’s Sunrise to talk about their collaboration and performed a new song they wrote together.

Raichel has released four studio albums and a 3-CD set with The Idan Raichel Project, combining a variety of languages into his lyrics. He has also performed at several prestigious venues, such as London’s Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Radio City Music Hall, and the Sydney Opera House.

As we approach the two-year anniversary of the Hamas attacks on Israel that sparked the ongoing Gaza war, Raichel says music plays an important role in healing and resilience.

You can watch Raichel’s show at the Blue Note in Waikiki on October 8. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $55 to $100. Doors open at 5 p.m.
