The first New Music Friday of February 2026 arrives with unusual weight, kicking off a month packed with notable releases.
At the center is J. Cole’s The Fall-Off, his seventh studio album and, by his own description, his final full-length project. Released via Dreamville and Interscope, the double album closes a decade-long creative arc that began with his earliest mixtapes. Cole has framed the record as a personal challenge, one built slowly between 2016 and 2026, with executive production handled alongside longtime collaborators including Ibrahim Hamad and T-Minus.
Elsewhere, genre boundaries blur with “Dracula (Remix),” a new version of Tame Impala’s 2025 track featuring Jennie. The original appeared on Kevin Parker’s Deadbeat album and stood out for its brooding, synth-heavy atmosphere. Jennie’s addition introduces a new melodic presence without disrupting the song’s hypnotic structure. The remix marks her first solo release since Ruby and kicks off a month that will see her return with BLACKPINK on the group’s upcoming EP, Deadline.
Zayn also enters the conversation with “Die For Me,” the lead single from his upcoming fifth studio album, Konnakol, due April 17. The song follows his critically noted Room Under the Stairs era. Just hours before this new era’s kickoff, Zayn delighted fans by announcing a world tour in support of the album.
