Jacob Elordi explains why he stays away from social media

Jacob Elordi has recently admitted he’s not fond of social media and tries to keep himself away from it.

The Kissing Booth star reveals the reason behind staying away from online world in a new interview with CBS Sunday Morning.

“I have no relationship with social media because my dream was to be an actor. My dream was to play in the movies,” says the 28-year-old.

Jacob explains that he sees himself “exactly how I dreamed it,” so for now, he can only handle that.

In the past, the Euphoria actor did have an Instagram account but then he decided to deactivate it  back in 2024.

Another reason to staying offline is to keep his private life “private”.

“I have a pretty strong refusal to lose my life to an industry… I consider myself an actor and just an actor,” mentions the Wuthering Heights actor.

For Jacob, life is outside the movie set and he hardly tries to think himself as a Hollywood star.

“It doesn’t really factor into my reality… I have so much love in my life, and the relationships I have in my life are so present and real… I was raised in such a sort of authentic and true way,” points out the Priscilla actor.

Before concluding, Jacob adds, “I feel so deeply here that, I don’t know, the idea of this industry and stuff — it doesn’t really factor into my day-to-day.”
