We’re nearly a month into 2026, so it’s time to check in on the world of Star Trek licensed merchandise and everything that’s been announced so far in the new year!
First up is the latest high-end prop replica: Factory Entertainment’s static Star Trek III: The Search for Spock Klingon communicator, modeled directly after the hand prop used in the third feature film. Unlike Factory’s prior Trek replicas — which we know some of our readers find to be inaccurate — this time the company has one of the original props in their possession for direct reference, as they describe in the product information.

“The original screen-used props were cast in resin and finished with a heavily weathered, battle-worn appearance. Three were produced for filming, and Factory Entertainment is fortunate to own one of those original prop communicators. Our “hero” prop is the example most frequently seen on screen, including the dramatic confrontation on the Genesis Planet that precedes the death of David Marcus.
Using detailed 3D scanning, we have recreated this prop with exceptional accuracy. Like the original, the replica is cast in resin and hand-painted, but for improved durability the distinctive top fins have been upgraded to metal while preserving the authentic on-screen look.”
The Star Trek III Klingon communicator prop replica features no lights or sounds; it is a static prop just like the original used in the film. We saw a preproduction sample of the replica at STLV 2024:

This replica is limited to a total manufacturing run of 500pc, and can be preordered now ($249.99 total price, including deposit) for an anticipated April 2026 delivery.
