Emmy-winning actor and comedian Jeff Hiller will serve as the celebrity grand marshal of the L.A. Pride Parade, organizers announced on Tuesday.
The 56th annual celebration will take place June 14, under the theme “Rise With Pride.” The event is produced by the Christopher Street West Association, the nonprofit behind the world’s first permitted LGBTQ+ pride parade in 1970.
Civil rights attorney Mia Yamamoto will serves community grand marshal and and the late Shirley Raines, who died earlier this year, will be honored as the legacy grand marshal.
“‘Rise With Pride’ is more than a theme, it’s a responsibility,” said CSW board president Lawrence Carroll in a statement. “Our focus is on accessibility, sustainability and innovation. L.A. Pride is rooted in service.”
Hiller, best known for his Emmy-winning performance on the HBO comedy “Somebody Somewhere,” has built a wide-ranging television career with appearances on series including “American Horror Stories,” “30 Rock” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” In addition to his acting work, Hiller released his memoir “Actress of a Certain Age” in 2025 and recently sold a television pilot while developing projects with Zachary Quinto’s production company.
Yamamoto, a transgender criminal defense attorney and longtime LGBTQ+ advocate, has spent decades fighting for civil rights in California. Born in a Japanese American internment camp during World War II, she later served in the U.S. Army before becoming a prominent legal voice for marginalized communities.
Raines, founder of the nonprofit Beauty 2 the Streetz, will be honored posthumously. Known affectionately as “Ms. Shirley,” she gained national recognition for her outreach to unhoused residents of Los Angeles’ Skid Row, offering meals, hygiene services and makeovers.
The parade route will begin at Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue before traveling through Hollywood Boulevard and Cahuenga Boulevard. Alongside the parade, the free Pride Village festival will return, featuring performances, community organizations and local vendors.
