Savannah Guthrie has appeared all week alongside Jenna Bush Hager for Today’s fourth-hour segment, Jenna and Friends. The women are co-workers and friends, making their time together this week both informative and fun.
One of the hottest topics to come up while Hager and Guthrie were chatting away was the newest trends, which, it turns out, are just a resurgence of some questionable trends of the 1990s.
As the pair gabbed away about thin eyebrows, low-rise jeans, and boys’ baggy and saggy jeans, Hager revealed, “My mom had to be like ‘girls, pull up your jeans!’ to such an exhaustion that I just never even…”
At that point, Guthrie cut in to talk about her son and how he is sagging his jeans. Neither of them could believe that it was still a trend after dealing with low-hanging pants of the ’90s.
Jenna Bush Hager Shared A Fun Childhood Story About Her Mom
But another thing that really stuck out was the image of Hager’s mom, Former First Lady Laura Bush, chasing her and her twin sister, BarbaraBush, through the White House and demanding that they pull up their pants.
In any case, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that both Today show hosts agreed that the low-rise and saggy jean trends both had to go and should never, ever come back. Nor should overplucked eyebrows, as Hager pointed out that many who jumped on that trend never did get their full eyebrows back.
Next Week on ‘Jenna & Friends’
The guest host for Jenna & Friends is always changing so, Guthrie wont be around next week. The duo, however, revealed the all-star lineup for the week starting on September 15 to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
There are four huge guests joining Hager for Today’s fourth hour: Hamilton actor Anthony Ramos, Cardi B, Rosie Perez, and Tom Llamas, whom we know from NBC News Now Top Story w/Tom Llamas.
Cardi B just won a civil court case earlier this month and was found not guilty of assaulting a security guard who was suing her for $24 million. She also recently released a new album, Am I the Drama?.
Perez will be honored this month with the Hispanic Heritage Award for Leadership from the Hispanic Heritage Foundation.
