Women dominated this year in music, and Billboard is ready to celebrate today’s groundbreaking artists at its annual Billboard Women in Music event.

This year’s honorees include a diverse group of artists, ranging from rising stars to seminal veterans, from pop and country, to R&B, Latin and beyond. The 2025 event will honor aespa, Ángela Aguilar, Erykah Badu, GloRilla, Gracie Abrams, JENNIE, Megan Moroney, Meghan Trainor, Muni Long and Tyla.

Laverne Cox will host the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event, which will take place Saturday, March 29, at YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California.

Presenters, performers and the coveted 2025 Billboard Woman of the Year will be announced in the coming weeks.

“The 2025 Billboard Women in Music celebrates the incredible women who continue to drive innovation, inspire change, and reshape the future of music,” Dana Droppo, Billboard‘s Chief Brand Officer, said in a statement.

Billboard‘s Editor-in-Chief, Hannah Karp, added, “From rising stars to legendary icons, this year’s honorees are redefining what it means to be a trailblazer in the industry. We’re honored to highlight their outstanding achievements and contributions through unforgettable performances, powerful tributes, and an evening that will truly shine a spotlight on their impact. It’s a privilege to continue Billboard’s tradition of recognizing the women who are pushing the boundaries of music and culture, and we can’t wait to share this incredible night with our global audience.”

Sponsors for the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event include official whisky Partner Crown Royal, HarbourView Equity Partners, Bose and Honda Stage, the presenter of the Rising Star Award.

A limited quantity of early access tickets will be available for purchase on Wednesday (Feb. 12) starting at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT with code WIM25. Public on-sale then begins Thursday (Feb. 13) at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster here. Prices begin at $89.

  • aespa: Group of the Year

    The group recently expanded their global tour in in support of their debut studio album Armageddon – The 1st Album, which arrived in May 2024, a week after aespa teamed up with Grimes for a remix of their hit single “Supernova” off the six-track EP iScreaM Vol. 33 : Supernova / Armageddon Remixes.

  • Ángela Aguilar: Breakthrough Award

    The 21-year-old daughter of Pepe Aguilar is quickly carving her own path in the music industry, having released three albums — 2018’s Primero Soy Mexicana, 2021’s Mexicana Enamorada and 2024’s Bolero.

  • Erykah Badu: Icon Award

    The singer, songwriter and Queen of Neo-Soul has influenced artists across genres over her decades-long career. Her countless hits, including “Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop)” and “Bag Lady,” have stood the test of time as music’s enduring classics. Badu won her fifth Grammy on Feb. 2 as the featured artist on Rapsody’s “3:AM,” which was voted best melodic rap performance.

  • GloRilla: Powerhouse Award

    GloRilla delivered her Glorious debut album in October, which launched at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. She also made her Saturday Night Live debut and earned a pair of Grammy nominations in the best rap song and best rap performance categories for her “Yeah Glo!” anthem.

  • Gracie Abrams: Songwriter of the Year

    The 25-year-old singer has captivated fans with her storytelling in her songs, snagging her first Hot 100 top 10 hit with “That’s So True,” which peaked at No. 6. Abrams received her second Grammy nod in as many years for best pop duo/group performance for “us.,” featuring Taylor Swift.

  • JENNIE: Global Force Award

    As a part of BLACKPINK, JENNIE has taken over charts and stages across the world. Now, as the K-pop star gears up to release her debut solo album, Ruby, on March 7, she’s already seen major success with singles like “Love Hangover.”

  • Megan Moroney: Rulebreaker Award

    Not only did Moroney release her album Am I Okay? in 2024, she also surprised fans with the three-song holiday EP Blue Christmas…duh, which featured two original songs, “All I Want For Christmas Is a Cowboy” and “Christmas Morning,” as well as a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Blue Christmas.” Last year, Moroney won the ACM Award for new female artist of the year and the CMA Award for new artist of the year.

  • Meghan Trainor: Hitmaker Award

    Trainor is no stranger to a hit, with tracks like “All About That Bass,” “Dear Future Husband,” “Made You Look” and more in her discography. Most recently, she’s making waves with her latest release, “Criminals.”

  • Muni Long: Rising Star Award Presented by Honda Stage

    Muni Long has had a breakout year thanks to her hit “Made for Me,” which reached a No. 8 peak on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 20 on the Hot 100. Her hot streak continued with “Make Me Forget,” her first No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay. Both hits appear on her sophomore album, Revenge. Long won best the Grammy for best R&B performance for the second time in three years for “Made for Me (Live on BET).”

  • Tyla: Impact Award

    Since South African artist Tyla made waves with her Grammy-winning hit “Water,” she’s been a force in Africa’s global music influence. Her latest track “Push 2 Start,” has been quickly launching its way up the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.
