Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein’s chemistry in their new romantic comedy is so believable that they’ve sparked dating rumors in real life.
The actors star in the new Netflix movie, “Office Romance,” which hits the streaming service on June 5. In the film, Lopez plays the CEO of an airline company who unexpectedly falls for Goldstein’s character, a lawyer who works for her company.
While appearing on TODAY June 2, the co-stars opened up about their immediate chemistry while working together.
“We were very lucky,” Goldstein said.
The actor then recalled their first encounter.
“When we first met on the Zoom, it was instant. We were laughing,” he said.
“Yes, it was easy,” Lopez agreed.
“I was like, ‘OK, it’s going to be great,” he said.
TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie then played a clip of Lopez appearing on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.” During the episode, she was asked to name her best onscreen kiss and cited Goldstein’s smooching skills. She said the same during a prior appearance on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle.
“OK, let’s just play that again,” Goldstein joked.
“(Cohen) always corners you into saying something,” Lopez said.
“That’s why he’s good at his job. OK, well, let me see if I can channel my best Andy because you know what everyone’s saying,” Savannah said.
Lopez played coy and asked what everyone’s been talking about.
“That you might actually be dating in real life,” Savannah replied.
A little wardrobe malfunction isn’t enough to shake up Jenny from the block. On July 25, during the Warsaw stop on her Up All Night: Live In 2025 tour, Jennifer Lopez celebrated her 56th birthday.
Lopez then took a moment to set the record straight.
“There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person,” she said.
“That’s true,” Savannah replied.
“I think if you stand near her, that’s what happens,” Goldstein said.
“That’s what you wish would happen,” Savannah joked.
“Yeah, that’s why I’ve been standing so close,” he teased.
Savannah playfully pressed the issue and suggested that Lopez’s response was “not an answer.”
“That was not an answer? it was an answer!” she said.
“You didn’t say yes or no,” Savannah said.
“Because (I’m not dating) all these people that they put me (together with in rumors). I think I was with Kevin Costner this year. I was with, there was a lot of people. It happens all the time. Doesn’t make it true,” Lopez replied.
Savannah then suggested that dating rumors are inevitable when you’re a “hot, eligible single person.”
“OK, so you’re not dating? Not dating in real life,” she said.
“Not dating,” Lopez replied.
“Correct,” Goldstein said.
