It Ends With Us’ star Jenny Slate and book author Colleen Hoover were reportedly deposed as part of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ongoing legal drama.
People reported on Friday, October 17, that multiple members of the film production were called in for depositions. Included in that list were Hoover, 45, Slate, 43, and Isabela Ferrer.
According to the outlet, Hoover, who wrote the novel that the film was based on, recently sat down for a deposition. Slate, who played the sister of Baldoni’s character, and Ferrer, who portrayed the younger version of Lively’s character, were reportedly deposed over the summer.
Us Weekly has reached out to Hoover, Slate and Ferrer for comment.
Lively and Baldoni’s legal back and forth began in December 2024 when the actress accused her It Ends With Us costar and director Baldoni of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment and launching an alleged smear campaign against her. Baldoni vehemently denied the allegations and countersued Lively.
Baldoni’s lawsuit against Lively was later dismissed by a judge. Lively’s lawsuit remains ongoing. It is scheduled for trial in March 2026.
When Lively first came forward with her allegations against Baldoni, Slate publicly supported her.
“As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” Slate shared in a statement to Today.com in December 2024. “Blake is a leader, loyal friend and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her.”
Hoover also publicly supported Lively after she filed the lawsuit against Baldoni.
“Blake Lively you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met,” Hoover wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of the pair. “Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.”
In July, Lively was deposed in New York City by Baldoni’s legal team as preparation was underway for their days in court. Us previously reported that Baldoni was present for the meeting.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of her deposition, and now look forward to deposing Justin Baldoni and each of the codefendants in short order,” a spokesperson for Lively said in a statement to Us in July. “Deposition testimony is confidential for good reason — it’s evidence in a legal proceeding and is subject to objections and evidentiary rules. Juries aren’t just handed deposition transcripts to read at home, and instead they listen to testimony that is presented at trial under a judge’s supervision.”
Ferrer’s involvement in the case made headlines earlier this year after Baldoni’s legal team subpoenaed her. Ferrer’s lawyers claimed that he was “harassing” her.
“Baldoni has tried to manipulate, threaten, control and otherwise act inappropriately towards Ms. Ferrer,” her attorneys alleged in court docs obtained by Us in August.
Baldoni’s lawyers denied Ferrer’s accusation claiming that they were allegedly “ignored” after attempting to request information from Ferrer’s lawyer “twice.”
