Apple TV+ has shared a trailer for its newest crime thriller drama starring Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain, The Savant. This marks Chastain’s first TV project in more than two years after receiving critical praise for her leading performance in the George & Tammy miniseries.
The upcoming series will make its debut on Friday, September 26, 2025, with the first two episodes. It will then be followed by one new episode every Friday through November 7, 2025.

What happens in The Savant trailer?
The video introduces Chastain as Jodi, an average suburban mom during the day. However, by night, her job requires her to uncover the darkest corners of the internet, where she investigates hate groups that are planning to commit domestic terrorism against innocent people. However, during her investigation, her real identity gets compromised, leaving her family in danger. Joining Chastain are Nnamdi Asomugha, Cole Doman, Jordana Spiro, Trinity Lee Shirley, Toussaint Francois Battiste, and Pablo Schreiber.
“The tense and high-stakes thriller follows an undercover investigator known as The Savant as she infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists before they act,” reads the show’s official synopsis.
The Savant is written and executive produced by Melissa James Gibson, who’s also serving as the showrunner. It is based on the Cosmopolitan feature written by Andrea Stanley, who also serves as a consultant on the series. Executive producers are Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Freckle Films, Alan Poul, and Matthew Heineman, along with David Levine and Garrett Kemble for Anonymous Content. It is a production of FIFTH SEASON.
