Joe Alwyn Wears Blue in 1st Sighting Since Ex Taylor Swift’s Engagement

Joe Alwyn has to shake it off and step on out.

One day after Taylor Swift announced her engagement to Travis Kelce, the Grammy winner’s ex was photographed on an afternoon stroll in London.

In pictures obtained by TMZ, Alwyn, 34, sported light blue denim jeans, a matching striped sweater and a blue Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap as he enjoyed a casual walk with a friend on Wednesday, August 27.

While Alwyn’s fashion may appear to be cool and casual to some, other Swifites couldn’t help but recall the numerous times Swift, 35, has seemingly sung about the actor and the color blue together.

On her 2017 Reputation album, Swift’s love ballad titled “Delicate” alluded to the early stages of her relationship with Alwyn.

Some fans speculated that the lyric, “Oh damn, never seen that color blue,” referred to Alwyn’s eyes.

In her song “Gorgeous,” Swift also praised Alwyn’s “ocean blue eyes.”

When the singer released Lover two years later, Swift sang about private moments with Alwyn in “Paper Rings,” including when they painted his brother’s room blue together.

In 2020’s Folklore, Swift seemingly referenced the hue in reference to Alwyn again, singing in “Peace,” “I’ll keep your brittle heart warm / If your cascade ocean wave blues come.”

Alwyn — who dated Swift from the fall of 2016 to early 2024 — previously discussed moving on from the relationship during a January 2025 interview with The Guardian. At the time, he expressed hopes that the public could do the same.

“That’s something for other people to do,” he said. “We’re talking about something that’s a while ago now in my life. So that’s for other people. That’s what I feel.”

When asked whether he felt the relationship overshadowed his acting career, Alwyn played coy.

“I have tried just to focus on controlling what I can control,” he said. “Right from the beginning, [I] tried to focus on the things that are meaningful for me: friends, family, work, of course. So, noise outside of that, I think I’ve done what lots of people who find themselves in the public eye do, which is just try and ignore it.”

On Tuesday, August 26, Swift confirmed she was engaged to Kelce, 35, after two years of dating by sharing a joint social media post.
