Heading into the third set of Blind Auditions on The Voice Season 29, four-time winner Kelly Clarkson‘s team was 80 percent full with only two spots to fill. Three-time winner Adam Levine had picked up seven artists and one-time winner John Legend‘s team was halfway complete. During this phase of the competition, each coach was looking for 10 diverse artists to comprise a team that they’d take into each of the subsequent rounds.
Also on their minds this season was the unique chance to earn the new “Super Steal” power, allowing them to override another coach’s steal during the Battles. To do so, they’d have to beat the other coaches in acquiring the most artists on three-chair turns. Comedian Druski and NBA legend Derek Fisher were keeping track of the coach’s totals via the Triple Turn leaderboard. After 23 blind auditions, Adam was the Triple Turn leader with three artists, Kelly was on his heels with two, and John was in last place with one.

Super Steal
By the end of Night 3, the race for the season’s new Super Steal power came down to Kelly and Adam. Both coaches finished the Blind Auditions with three artists who earned coveted three-chair turns.
With the Triple Turn leaderboard tied, the deciding factor became the number of two-chair turns each coach secured during the auditions. That tiebreaker tipped the scales in Kelly’s favor, giving the four-time champion the edge.
As the winner, Kelly earns the season’s Super Steal — a powerful new advantage that will allow her to override another coach’s steal during the upcoming Battle rounds.
