John Cena is sharing all the ways his hair transplant changed his life ― and why he wishes he’d done it sooner.
The WWE star said in an interview with People magazine published Wednesday that while he originally attempted to “hide” his hair loss, fans were “bringing it to light.”
“I saw their signs that said ‘The bald John Cena,’” the “Trainwreck” actor said, explaining that it “pushed me into going to see what my options were.”
“I now have a routine: red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner — and I also got a hair transplant last November,” Cena admitted.
“I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I’d have gotten it done 10 years ago,” he said. “I thought I was alone, but seven or eight out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness.”
Cena has no regrets and said he doesn’t “think there’s any shame in” getting a transplant.
“It completely changed the course of my life,” he said.
Cena previously called out WWE fans for “bullying” him over his “bald spot.”

“You chant and you make me feel small and you embarrass me,” the wrestler said at WWE World in April. “Y’all don’t know what that’s like. That is straight-up bullying. That’s just not cool. I don’t like it.”
Cena joins other male celebrities, including comedian Joel McHale, who have been open about their own transplants and hair loss journey.
McHale recently shared that he’d undergone four transplants and was “fully bald” without them.
