Platinum-selling rapper That Mexican OT will headline a multi-artist music show in West Des Moines later this month.
The Bay City, Texas, rapper is performing at Val Air Ballroom on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., with That Mexican OT affiliates RNB Foemob and Drodi set to open the concert.

Born Virgil René Gazca, the 26-year-old burst onto the music scene in 2023 with his hit song “Johnny Dang,” from the album “Lonestar Luchador.” The track pays tribute to Johnny Dang, a Vietnamese-born jeweler based in Houston, who has famously crafted jewelry for rap legends such as Drake, Jay-Z and Rick Ross.
“Johnny Dang” featured rappers Paul Wall and Drodi. The song has more than 200 million streams on Spotify and was certified platinum by the RIAA in May 2024. His fourth studio album, “Recess,” was released in August and features artists Lil Wayne, BigXthaPlug, and Denzel Curry among others.
