In a short interview with The Sun, Jonathan Majors was unable to hide his excitement about the character Kang the Conqueror. While he was extremely coy with his answers, the actor didn’t rule out a Marvel return. Moreover, the actor even cited the Multiverse as a plausible way for him to continue making Marvel appearances.
“I cannot say anything about that. … It’s a multiverse, so there’s always that.”
In many ways, Majors is extremely correct. With the current rate the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding, it appears that almost every character will have at least a small role to play in the overall universe. This intricate storyline involves several key characters played by Majors, so it would definitely make sense for him to return.
It would be more than possible for Majors to return as Kang in both the animated and live-action worlds. While many believe that Disney will remain steadfast in their decision, Major’s reaction to the interview indicates otherwise. It’s very likely that Majors is either in talks or will appear in future Marvel content.
At this point, it’s unlikely Majors will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, but it’s possible he could appear in Avengers: Secret Wars or a subsequent film. There is also a heavy chance he could reprise his role as Kang in another one of Marvel’s animated shows. Ultimately, fans of Kang shouldn’t be surprised if the Conqueror isn’t recast after all.
