While everyone wants Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes to get back together, it seems that won’t happen anytime soon if he doesn’t knock off these two habits. While filming their new movie Happy Hour in New York City, they’ve been getting rather close. An inside source even alleged to Star that Holmes is “clearly getting her hopes up for this to go somewhere,” but there are two major roadblocks.
The source added that while Jackson “says all the right things and is very charming,” he’s “out there dating these women in their 20s.” (In recent weeks, he’s been seen with actresses Priya Jain, 28, and Simone Ashley, who turned 30 this year.)

The second issue? The alleged mixed signals. “It’s fine if he doesn’t want to settle down, but he needs to stop giving Katie such mixed messages,” the source added.
It’s unclear what’s truly going on behind the scenes with Holmes and Jackson, but it seems if he keeps these habits up, nothing romantic will come.

For those who don’t know, the Dawson’s Creek alums dated from 1998 to 1999.
“I’m just going to say that I met somebody last year,” Holmes said of Jackson to Rolling Stone back in the day. “I fell in love, I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable that I will treasure it always. And that I feel so fortunate because he’s now one of my best friends. It’s weird, it’s almost like a Dawson-and-Joey type thing now.”
