Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Seth Rogen, and Samira Wiley Celebrate Tangles at Lucia Cannes During the 2026 Cannes Film Festival

On the glittering French Riviera, the 2026 Cannes Film Festival is once again proving that cinema’s most memorable moments often continue long after the credits roll. Following the premiere of the emotionally charged hand-drawn animated feature Tangles, an intimate yet star-studded celebration unfolded at Lucia Cannes on May 14, bringing together filmmakers, actors, producers, and tastemakers for one of the festival’s most vibrant gatherings. I was lucky enough to also attend!

The after party had the entire (and impressive!) cast in attendance, including: Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Abbi Jacobson, Seth Rogen, Samira Wiley, and Sugar Lyn Beard alongside first-time director Leah Nelson, writer Sarah Leavitt, and producers from Monarch Media, LYLAS Pictures, Point Grey Pictures, and Giant Ant. Fresh from the film’s premiere, guests arrived at Lucia Cannes buzzing with emotion from the deeply personal and visually stunning animated feature.

Inside Lucia, the atmosphere balanced Riviera glamour with a relaxed creative energy. The restaurant’s maximalist interiors, filled with warm Mediterranean colors, lush textures, and playful design details, provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration centered around storytelling. Since opening on La Croisette in 2024 Lucia has quickly become one of Cannes’ most coveted dining destinations and also one of my personal favorites.

And because Lucia is a part of the Nikki Beach family, of course the music was fantastic all night long. An energetic DJ set from Nikki Beach Hospitality Group’s Head of Music and Entertainment, Mlle Sabah drew inspiration from the Tangles nostalgic 90s alt-rock soundtrack and kept the energy high throughout the evening. Guests flowed between conversations, cocktails, and impromptu moments on the dance floor as the Riviera night stretched on.

The culinary experience reflected Lucia’s elevated yet playful approach to hospitality. Corporate Executive Chef Alessandro Pizza curated a menu of passed bites that captured the spirit of Mediterranean indulgence, including sun-roasted vegetable brioche, falafel with tahini sauce, crispy chicken bites, creamy cacio e pepe (served out of parmesan wheels!), and delicate strawberry tartlets. Tequila from Celosa added another celebratory touch and rosé from Ultimate Provence brought the riviera flavor full circle.

For Nikki Beach Hospitality Group, the party marked another milestone in its long-standing relationship with Cannes. The group has hosted renowned festival pop-ups since 2002, becoming synonymous with the city’s blend of luxury, nightlife, and international culture. The opening of Lucia Cannes in March 2024 represented the company’s first entirely new brand concept outside of their namesake Nikki Beaches. Earlier this year, the group expanded the Lucia concept even further with the debut of a new location in Marbella.

As Cannes continues to celebrate boundary-pushing cinema and creative collaboration, the Tangles afterparty at Lucia Cannes perfectly captured the spirit of the festival: emotional storytelling, artistic energy, exceptional hospitality, and an unforgettable night along the Croisette.
