Is Julianne Hough done with Dancing With the Stars?

The pro dancer made her debut in season 4 of the show and then began releasing music, starring in movies, and even creating a wellness brand. She then made her Broadway debut in April 2022, starring in the play POTUS.

While it seems like she’s not leaving Dancing With the Stars any time soon, she may have another career move up her sleeve, according to an interview with BroadwayWorld at the 2026 Tony Awards on June 7.

“We’ve got to get you back to Broadway,” reporter Richard Ridge asked in a clip posted on Instagram. “[Fellow DWTS star] Mark Ballas just came back [to Chicago].”

“You might be hearing something soon,” she teased in response. “So, we’ll see.”

As soon as fans heard that Julianne might return to the Great White Way, they had so much to say.

“👀 @juleshough Tony Award winner era incoming?” one person wrote in the comments. “OMG JHough in another Broadway show (I had a feeling when I saw her bump into Lord Lloyd-Webber was hoping it would be West End!)😮😮 Please just don’t be teasing. Looking at future Tony Nominee/Winner 🥺❤️🔥❤️🔥,” another begged.

While nothing is set in stone for Julianne, plenty of DWTS contestants and pros have been performing in Chicago over the last few years. Ariana Madix (season 33 competitor) and Whitney Leavitt (season 34 contender) both played Roxie Hart, and we can’t help but think how well Julianne would do in the role, too. She participated in the 30th-anniversary tribute to the musical during this year’s Tony Awards and told BroadwayWorld exactly what she loves about the show.

“Bob Fosse is one of the greats of all time,” she explained in an article published on June 7. “Being a dancer, choreographer, anytime I get to have an opportunity to be part of something like that, I’m always raising my hand—first one in, always—so what an honor. Also, just to be at the Tonys in general!”

We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us!
