RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — Juneteenth is lighting up the Triangle with events filled with music, culture, and community pride as cities across the region host festivals, performances, and family friendly gatherings to honor freedom and Black heritage.

Raleigh:

Juneteenth Celebration at The Pines

Carolina Pines Park is hosting an evening of great music, food and fun for all ages at their Juneteenth Celebration at The Pines on Thursday, June 11 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the Kidz Zone will be available for children ages 5-12.

There will be a live DJ, local music performers, food trucks, interactive activities, information tables, and photo opportunities. The Kidz Zone will include games and activities, arts and crafts, and snacks.

Parents and guardians are required to sign children in and out to participate in the Kidz Zone. The event is free to attend.

Juneteenth: A Chavis Celebration

The City of Raleigh is bringing two back-to-back celebrations to John Chavis Memorial Park to celebrate Juneteenth. The day party will include waterslides and water games, art on canvas and hands-on crafts, a live DJ, vendor booths, health and wellness screenings, food trucks and more.

The fun begins on Friday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The night party will be on the same day on June 19 from 5-9 p.m. and will include live bands and performances by local artists, a live DJ, face paintings, inflatables vendor booths and interactive activities. Both events are free to attend and all ages are welcomed.

Juneteenth Celebration 2026 at Moore Square Park

Marbles Kids Museum Moore Square at the park wants you to join in on the celebration with their Juneteenth Celebration 2026 event on Friday, June 19 from 12-5 p.m. at Moore Square Park. Curated by Taste of Black, the event will include food trucks, games, music, and more.

The event runs from 12-5 p.m. at Moore Square Park and is free for the public. Tickets are required for entry to Marbles Kids Museum.
Capital City Juneteenth Celebration:

Dorothea Dix Park is hosting the Capital City Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20 from 2-6:30 p.m. at Harvey Hill. Guests can bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment-including HBCU line dancing, the Dynamic Diamonds Dance Team, and genealogist Desi Campbell. There will also be kids’ activities, vendors, food trucks, and more.

Garner:

Garner 2026 Juneteenth Celebration

The Garner Juneteenth Committee is hosting their annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20 from 11-12:15 p.m. at the Garner Performing Arts Center.

This year’s theme will focus on telling the stories of Black landowners in the early days of Garner. The program will feature local choirs, dance performances, and narrative segments woven together, along with interview clips that will bring history to life through the voices of residents and their ancestors.

Congresswoman Deborah Ross and Mayor Buddy Gupton will speak at the event.

Durham:

Juneteenth at Hub HTP

Hub RTP will be hosting a festive Juneteenth celebration which will include live entertainment on the Hub RTP stage, including beats from DJ Damu, a rap performance by Bey Boys, and a set from Acisse Jay and the Gents.

There will also be dance performances, line dancing instruction, food and drinks, community and educational booths, face painting, yard games, and more.

The event is free and all ages are welcome to join. It is recommended to bring your own chair or picnic blanket and tents are not allowed. Sign up to receive a free ticket for general admission.

Fayetteville:

5th Annual Juneteenth Jubilee

Downtown Fayetteville is celebrating Juneteenth with the 5th Annual Juneteenth Jubilee. The free event will kick off in Festival Park on Friday, June 19 from 5-11p.m.

The Jubilee is for all ages and visitors can experience a curated lineup of live entertainment, soulful music, local food trucks, small-business and corporate vendors, history, games, and engaging art installations that highlights the Black American experience from the past, present, and beyond.

Chapel Hill-Carrboro

Chapel Hill-Carrboro Juneteenth Celebration

The Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro is celebrating Juneteenth at Hargraves Community Center on June 19 from 4-9 p.m. The event will include live performances, history exhibits, and a market with art vendors and nonprofits.

There will also be local food, music, dancing, and activities for kids.

Cary:

Juneteenth Celebration

Downtown Cary Park is hosting a Juneteenth Celebration with an evening of music, culture, and community. On Saturday, June 20 from 4-9:30 p.m. Curated by Historian Darrell Stover, guests can experience the spirit of “freedom dance” as the park honors expression, resilience, and joy through live performances that invite everyone to join in.

There will also be food trucks and vendors on site. The event is free to the public to attend and suitable for all ages.

Apex:

Juneteenth in the Peak festival

The Town of Apex is hosting its annual Juneteenth in the Peak festival on Saturday, June 20 from 1-8 p.m. at the Apex Town Hall Campus.

The event includes live music and entertainment, food vendors, Juneteenth stories, local vendors. Many parking lots on Town Campus will be closed for this event. The lot closest to the Mason Street entrance will be open for parking.

Juneteenth in the Peak is also hosting a 3v3 Hoops Tournament from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at John M. Brown Community Center at 53 Hunter St. Team will compete in one of four divisions based on age and gender.

The tournament will begin with group play followed by semifinals and championship games. Here is how to register.
