Forget music: Justin Timberlake is itching to get back on the big screen, a source tells Star.
“Justin hasn’t had a movie hit in years and he’s desperate to change that,” the source says of the Trolls star, 44.
But rather than trying to rebuild his serious acting career by “humbling himself” and “slashing his asking price” to make “small, interesting films” — like 2021’s Palmer and 2013’s Inside Llewyn Davis — the ‘NSYNC alum is thinking big, says the source.
“Justin still thinks he has massive, blockbuster style hit left in him, and it’s just a matter of leveraging his 20 years of movie business contacts,” continues the source, adding that he’s reached out to his Social Network director, David Fincher, and his Friends with Benefits costar Mila Kunis.
“But he’s not going to get hired because people feel sorry for him and the cold streak he’s been on,” says the source.
“Audiences have decided they don’t need more Justin Timberlake movies,” continues the source, “and it’s on Justin to change their minds and remind them, any way he can, that he’s still somebody worth watching.”

As Star previously reported, Timberlake and his wife, Jessica Biel, are at a crossroads in their marriage as their respective careers head in different directions.
Biel, 43, is “looking forward and trying to evolve,” while her husband — who she shares two sons — is “stuck in the past.”
