K-pop girl group IVE is sharing their favorite songs from their new album, IVE Secret, and their favorite piece of choreography from its lead single, “XOXZ.”
In an exclusive social clip, all of of IVE — consisting of members Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz and Leeseo — share their top pick from their fourth EP. The six track album’s lead single “XOXZ” is infectiously catchy and features a new sound, a natural progression from their last single “Attitude.”
While “Attitude” was a self-confident anthem, “XOXZ” is a melodic hip pop track. Yujin, the group’s 22-year-old leader, says the title track is her favorite from the album. Leeso, the group’s youngest member at just 18 years old, and Wonyoung, 21, both agree, selecting the song as their number one pick. “XOXZ,” Wonyoung says in an exclusive THR clip, motioning the song’s hand choreography. She adds that she contributed to writing the lyrics for the song.
Gaeul, 22, and Rei, 21, both select “[Heart] Beats” as their favorite song on the album. The dance-pop track features a unique beat and showcases IVE at their best sonically. Liz, 20, selects the groovy dance-pop track “Midnight Kiss” as her top pick. The singer contributed to writing lyrics for the song.
The group spoke with THR earlier this year about their journey from their 2021 debut to present. “During our concerts, when we’re on tour, we’re able to meet Dive [official name for group’s fans] face to face and I can really feel that they love our performances and us as a group,” Gaeul told THR about their 2024 world tour. “I want to work hard and give back that love to them.”
