Kacey Musgraves has released the title track from her upcoming album, Middle of Nowhere, just ahead of her surprise Coachella Weekend 2 set on Saturday. Stream it below.
Per a press release, “Middle of Nowhere” was inspired by “a literal sign in Musgraves’ tiny, unincorporated, no-stoplight hometown of Golden, Texas, population under 300, that reads ‘Golden, TX: Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere. It and the solitary headspace Musgraves was living in sparked the idea for the title track and unfolding, symbolic throughline of the album, speaking to something deeper and more nuanced.’”

“Middle of Nowhere” comes after the cheeky lead single, “Dry Spell,” which Musgraves released in March. Middle of Nowhere is the follow-up to Deeper Well, which Consequence named one of the best albums of 2024.

The album is set for release on May 1st via Lost Highway Records, and pre-orders are ongoing.
Besides Coachella, Musgraves is slated for another festival appearance at Bourbon & Beyond, leaving her schedule wide open for a potential tour. Stay tuned for updates on that.
