Taylor Swift Leads Week’s Best New Music: Friday Music Guide

We only have one week left of summer, which means now is the time to party and have some fun. It’s been an amazing season for new music, and this week was no different. From A-list names to rising stars, get your playlist ready and let’s have some musical fun.

Kali Uchis, Ravyn Lenae – Cry about it!

The always ethereal Kali Uchis and Ravyn Lenae bring the old school sound with an enchanting melody and playground-inspired lyrics, teasing “too bad, so sad” as she calls out an old flame and the pain of losing her.

Quitapenas – Palenquera

Inland Empire’s favorite boy band Quitapenas continues their 2025 reign of new music with “Palenquera.”  This week, they dropped a colorful new banger that continues their streak into 2025. “Palenquera is an Afro-Colombian woman from Palenque de Benkos, the first free Black town in the Americas,” Eduardo Valencia explained. “Dressed in vibrant colors and carrying fruit baskets on their heads, they are living symbols of resilience and African ancestry. Palenque itself is deeply tied to QUITAPENAS’ history. I first traveled there in 2013 to study with legendary drumming families, whose rhythms have since shaped our musical style.” The release comes ahead of their set at the Mucho Gusto Festival in Riverside on September 20.

Demi Lovato – Here All Night

Demi Lovato returns in full-on pop mode with “Here All Night.” She celebrated the release with a star-studded party in Los Angeles, dropping a fun music video and a high-energy beat that’ll have you headbanging on the dance floor.

Cuco – Dreamin’

The talented Mexican American artist and multi-instrumentalist Cuco just released the deluxe edition of his masterpiece Ridin’, which includes “Dreamin.” The album is a start-to-finish listening experience and is a love letter to oldies, lowriders, and Chicano culture. He also announced a 35-date tour spanning from the West Coast through the Midwest and East Coast, before extending internationally to Mexico City’s Foro Puebla and European capitals, including Madrid, London, and Paris in February 2026.

Rauw Alejandro – GuabanSexxx

Puerto Rican star Rauw Alejandro has been non-stop this year with his bangers, and his latest track “GuabanSexxx” is no different. Blending African rhythms with bomba and plena, the foundation of reggaetón, the release is a love letter to the genre. It’s one of his best songs yet, showing just how much he’s evolved as an artist.

Kapo x Camilo – ESTA ES TU CASA NENA

Kapo and Camilo come together for “ESTA ES TU CASA NENA,” a smooth and romantic experience, keeping their tropical touch alive. The long song plays like a kiss to the ears, all about taking the next step in a relationship.

GALE – Ciao!

Gale gets funky with 80s-inspired beats that invite you straight to the dance floor with “Ciao.” “Ciao! is about stepping out of the gray area with someone, putting down the ultimatum and saying: either you decide now… or ciao! Sonically it’s my synth-pop throwback anthem, made to dance, let go, and show off all your weird moves. It’s fun and sexy, but also unapologetically direct,” she said in a press release.

Los Plebes del Rancho de Ariel Camacho & Peso Pluma – Haciendo Memoria

Los Plebes del Rancho de Ariel Camacho collaborates with Peso Pluma for “Haciendo Memoria.” The release comes as Pluma makes history as the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s (CFDA) first Mexican ambassador for New York Fashion Week. The track leans into regional sounds, transporting you straight to a pueblo in Mexico, another proud nod to culture in a time when representation matters.

Ke Personajes, J Balvin – Celosa

After his exciting set at the MTV VMAs, J Balvin collaborates with Ke Personajes on “Celosa” as the duo taps into everyone’s favorite messy emotion. The track fuses playful instrumentation with an irresistible rhythm, making jealousy sound unexpectedly fun.
