EXCLUSIVE: Aura Entertainment, the new U.S. distributor launched earlier this year by Capstone Studios, Signature Entertainment and Ascending Media Group, has acquired Wildcat, a thriller starring Kate Beckinsale (Underworld franchise), which it will release in theaters and on digital on November 25.
Also starring Lewis Tan (Mortal Kombat franchise) and Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), the film follows an ex–black ops team that reunites to pull off a desperate heist and save the life of an eight-year-old girl.
Directed by James Nunn (One Shot) and written by Dominic Burns (Allies), with Capstone Studios financing, the cast also includes Tom Bennett (House of the Dragon), Alice Krige (Star Trek: First Contact), Edmund Kingsley (The Witcher), and Matt Willis (Missing You). James Harris (Fall, 47 Meters Down) produced the film alongside Christian Mercuri (Kandahar), Crawford Anderson-Dillon (The Morse Collectors), Mark Lane (I Am Not a Serial Killer), and Burns.
In a statement to Deadline, Aura Entertainment CEO Marc Goldberg said, “Wildcat pushes the boundaries of what action can be. Led by the incredible Kate Beckinsale, the film is packed with high-octane sequences that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.”
Aura Entertainment is coming off releases including the paramedic buddy comedy Code 3 with Rainn Wilson and Lil Rel Howery, the Renée Elise Goldsberry documentary Satisfied, the horror-comedy Coyotes with Justin Long and Kate Bosworth, and the sex-education comedy Doin’ It starring Lilly Singh. Upcoming releases include the action film Trap House starring Dave Bautista, hitting theaters on November 14, and Anderson .Paak’s comedy K-Pops!, which Aura will unveil in January.
