Former Bachelorette lead Katie Thurston publicly responded after a former contestant made a rude comment on her wedding photos after recently giving an update on her cancer battle.
Thurston, 34, reposted the remark from Cody Menk on her Instagram Stories on August 6, writing, “Remember this guy from my season? Me either. But he’s still here lurking on my page. Thanks for being a fan.”
Menk, who appeared on her 2021 season but was eliminated in week two, had commented “Good couple! Both solid 5s” on an April post showing Thurston and her husband, comedian Jeff Arcuri.
The comment has since been deleted.
Several fans replied on Thurston’s original post, with one writing, “Where’s Cody? I just wanna talk…” Thurston responded, “Blocked so I’ll never know now.”
Thurston has documented her treatment process, which has included postponing chemotherapy after new test results and undergoing in vitro fertilization to preserve embryos.
She said she and Arcuri, who married March 22 in an intimate backyard ceremony, have discussed surrogacy but are also open to remaining childless.
“We don’t know what the next year looks like,” Thurston told Us Weekly.
“One night he said, ‘I’ll get married to you tomorrow.’”
Arcuri told the outlet the decision also ensured hospital access as her spouse.
