Keith Urban had a dramatic reaction to a fan’s revelation that her name was Nicole.
In the midst of his divorce from actress Nicole Kidman, Urban took the stage before a throng of excited fans in Nashville on October 17. He had several emotional moments, according to videos posted to the Instagram stories of a media agency called Nashville Experience.
Urban is in the midst of a divorce from Kidman, the mother of his two daughters.
A source told People that the actress is trying to stay positive. She is “surrounded by the two things that matter the most to her, her family and her work,” People reported.
The Fan Revealed That Her Name Was ‘Nicole,’ Sending Keith Urban Reeling
The video shows Urban leaning over to speak with a fan in the first row at his concert.
“What’s your name?” he asked. At first, you can’t hear the fan’s answer.
“What? I’m not going to like your name, what?” a befuddled Urban responded.
“It’s Nicole,” the woman said.
Urban responded by collapsing on his back and putting his hand in the air.
A second video published by the same page shows Urban kneeling down and growing visibly emotional as fans cheered him during a performance of his song, “Somebody Like You.”
A third video showed Urban “closing out” his High and Alive tour in Nashville.
“Love somebody like Nashville loves Keith Urban 🥲” Nashville Experience wrote, alongside a longer video showing Urban getting moved by the crowd’s enthusiasm and support.
Fans responded positively in the comment thread. “You have always brought it to the stage… thanks for your musical talent all these years, and sending you big hugs 🤗 ❤️” wrote one.
“Keith’s fans showed up to love ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ him in Nashville tonight 👏👏👏👏👏👏,” another fan explained. “He’s awesome,” wrote another.
Another video shows Urban going into the pit alongside fans. According to People, Urban’s interaction with the fan came on October 17 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
Keith Urban Cancelled a Previous Concert Because He Was Sick
Urban’s Nashville concert came after he cancelled a concert in Greenville, SC, due to being sick.
He cancelled the concert at the Secours Wellness Arena on October 16 because of a “bout of laryngitis,” according to People.
As a result, he was placed on “complete vocal rest” but he was still able to perform his final concert in Nashville the next day, People noted.
In a statement, Urban wrote, according to People, “Hey Greenville, I’m so SO sorry to have to cancel the show ….I know all the logistics it takes to get to a concert these days and I’ve never taken any of that, or any of YOU for granted. I’m looking forward to getting back there when we can!!!!!”
In 2024, Urban wrote about his music and life, “Life is about contrasts – highs, lows, confidence, insecurity, love found, love lost, clarity, blurry, disciplined, and then the next minute, couldn’t care less. Sexy, warm summers and lonely, cold winters. This album flows with all of these in various ways.”
“Out of all of the things that have changed in my life, one has been a constant. I love making music. The feeling of writing a song that has real magic in it, bringing that song to life in the studio, and then playing it on stage and watching complete strangers sing every word. It’s like walking on the moon (not that I’ve done that YET, but an astronaut hasn’t stood on stage and shredded either so….)” he wrote.
“My desire is for the ‘flow state,’ and that’s what happened when we started this album HIGH. It just FLOWED and I feel the spirit of the whole album really reflects that. I hope you feel that too.”
