Keke Palmer & More Celeb Style

Venerated talent and celebrities like Angela Bassett and Jennifer Hudson hit the red carpet on Monday night for the annual American Black Film Festival Honors in Los Angeles.

There was celebrity style aplenty at the annual gala, featuring designs by Falguni Shane Peacock and Jean-Louis Sabaji. Keke Palmer and “Sinners” Oscar nominee Wunmi Mosaku brought extra star power to the red carpet, with looks WWD breaks down ahead.

Angela Bassett

Bassett glittered in gold accents with her Falguni Shane Peacock black ensemble with gold floral elements throughout. The look featured a plunging neckline with a thigh-high slit and dramatic appliqués throughout the bodice, shoulders and dramatic long sleeves. The venerated, Oscar-nominated actress accessorized with gold jewelry pieces, including a bracelet by David Webb.

Keke Palmer

Palmer went for subdued elegance with a hint of sensuality in her little black dress moment. Styled by Molly Dickson, “The ‘Burbs” actress wore a body-con, sleeveless black dress with a thigh-high slit at the side. She accessorized with metallic pieces of jewelry, including a statement-making choker necklace. Palmer’s pixie cut was styled by Jamika Wilson, with dramatic makeup by artist Kenya Alexis.

Jennifer Hudson

Hudson turned to Jean-Louis Sabaji for her red-carpet-ready look. The Oscar-winning “Dream Girls” star wore a strapless ivory dress from the designer’s spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection, complete with a bevy of sequins and corseted bodice with floral detailing at the hip and thigh-high slit. She also wore Aquazzura slingback heels.

Wunmi Mosaku

Mosaku opted for a shade of maroon for her dramatic gown. The Oscar-nominated “Sinners” star wore a flowing dress with a cinched waist for added silhouette definition and a slightly scalloped neckline with off-the-shoulder flowing, sleeve-like fabric. Mosaku regularly collaborates with stylist Shameelah Hicks.

Vivica A. Fox

Vivica A. Fox also went for maroon with her column gown. The actress’ sleeveless dress featured a velvety fabric with jeweled neckline. Her clutch complemented the dress, while her other accessories favored shades of gold.

Created in 2016, the annual American Black Film Festival Honors is a gala event that pays tribute to the outstanding achievements in film and television from Black artists and creatives. The 2026 honorees included Bassett, who received the Excellence in the Arts Award; Hudson was honored with the Renaissance Award, and Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian received a special tribute for their record-breaking Oscar-nominated film “Sinners.”
