Kelly Clarkson has been in the headlines plenty this year, and much of that had to do with speculation about what might be going on in her private life as she missed stretches of her show.
Now the curtain is being pulled back some by the singer, who took to social media on Wednesday to announce that she was postponing the rest of her Las Vegas residency dates for August.
“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” she wrote. “I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”
Clarkson was set up for her Studio Sessions residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Her next performance is now set for Nov. 7.
Rolling Stone reported that Clarkson and her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, married in 2013 and have two children, a daughter who was born in 2014 and a son who was born in 2016.
Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in 2020, the outlet reported, and it was finalized two years later.
Her fans on X were willing to show her the grace that she asked for.
“Family first!” Rone Jean responded. “Hope all is well! We support you!”
“Kelly take all the time you need darling,” Amy Elden wrote. “We’re sending you lots of love and support and plenty of hugs. Family comes first. We love you darling.”
