Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings revealed a surprise career move on Instagram.
The TV star announced he had embarked on his first USO Tour and visited the military base Camp Casey in South Korea on May 5.
Ken grew up at Camp Casey, where his dad moved the family for his job.
Ken Jennings is doing something that would make his late mentor, Alex Trebek, very proud.
According to a post Ken made on Instagram on May 5, the Jeopardy! host traveled to South Korea for Inside Jeopardy! Live on Tour. The journey was organized in part by USO Tours and brought Ken to Camp Casey, a military base that played a big role in his childhood.
Ken acknowledged Alex’s love of giving back, including his multiple USO Tours.
“Alex Trebek, may his memory be a blessing, did 13 USO tours over the years,” he wrote in the caption alongside images of his time in South Korea. “This week I’m in Korea for my first! Very excited to be back at Camp Casey for the first time in 35+ years. I don’t want to brag but I’m getting equal billing with ‘Burger Sliders!’”
As soon as fans saw Ken’s trip, they left words of encouragement.
“This is fantastic!!” one person wrote. “Man, you’re just doing everything right to honor Trebek’s legacy and memory; definitely a man befitting the title of Jeopardy host!” another agreed. “Have a nice time❣️❣️❣️,” a different follower added.
A story about Ken in The Week in 2015 noted that his father, a lawyer, moved the family to South Korea for his job. Ken graduated from Seoul Foreign School, and during his time overseas, he began reading the various reference books around the house.
Ken thought fondly of returning to the place where he grew up.
“Very happy to be back in my adopted hometown of Seoul. 🇰🇷 🇰🇷 🇰🇷,” he wrote on May 4 on Instagram. “Let me know if I can bring anybody back any skin care products.”
We love this for him!
