Sambas will never go out of style (just ask Mary-Kate Olsen), but this week, Kendall Jenner made the case for another timeless everyday sneaker: the Adidas Originals Superstar.
Fit for a supermodel, with a slim fit, an elevated sole, and the iconic Adidas three stripes, the Superstar was originally released in 1969, as a low-top basketball shoe, and recently got a hot refresh. On February 18th, Adidas unveiled a first glimpse into the next chapter of “the Original Icon,” with a campaign film that sees Samuel L. Jackson in desperate search for his Superstars.
For her outing, Jenner reached for a pair in black, with white stripes. They are also available in several other colorways, including beige and white, black and pink, white and black, black and blue, and more. The comfy sneakers are also wildly affordable, retailing from $100 to $130.
The 818 paired hers with easy white lounge pants, which she styled by folding over at the elastic waistband and making them more low-rise. Leaving her torso bare, she matched the pants with a little white sports bra, and layered on a preppy vintage Originals track jacket with a black-and-white colorblock design and the iconic three stripes.
Jenner’s go-to minimalist accessories—gold huggies and inky oval sunglasses—completed her off-duty look, which could easily be taken from the couch, to the gym, to a girls’ lunch. She kept things cool and breezy by leaving her black hair down, straight.
Jenner has previously served as an Adidas Originals ambassador and fronted multiple campaigns for the athletics brand.
