(WLNS) — Four big artists led the way in Grammy nominations: Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar and Sabrina Carpenter. Lamar had nine nominations, Lady Gaga had seven. Carpenter, Bad Bunny and Leon Thomas each had six.
Others with multiple nominations included Justin Bieber, Chappell Roan, the Clipse and Huntr/x, and the fictional girl group from “KPop Demon Hunters.” The eligibility window ran from Aug. 31, 2024, to Aug. 30, 2025, so Taylor Swift’s “Life of a Showgirl” was not considered. Country star Morgan Wallen was also absent after announcing he would not submit his album “I’m the Problem” for consideration.

Bad Bunny received top nods this year despite being left off of the top categories in previous years. The Puerto Rican rapper primarily performs in Spanish and was recently announced as the halftime performer for the Super Bowl next year, which angered many on the right.
The academy added two new awards: best album cover and best traditional country album. The latter has been mocked as the “Beyoncé rule” after the star crossed over to country last year and won both best album and best country album for “Cowboy Carter.”
