Kevin Federline claims the kids he shares with Britney Spears once woke up to their mom watching them sleep with a “knife in her hand.”
The dancer — who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2007 — makes the shocking revelation in his forthcoming memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” according to an excerpt obtained by the New York Times.
“They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — ‘Oh, you’re awake?’ — with a knife in her hand,” Federline, who shares sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with his ex-wife, alleges in the book.
“Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.”
While recalling the alleged story, Federline, 47, expressed concern that something “bad” would happen to their children if he didn’t step in.
“The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible. It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK,” he adds.
“From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.”
A rep for Spears tells Page Six in a statement, “With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin. All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir.”
Spears, 43, has a complicated relationship with her sons and was only recently let back into their lives after they moved to Hawaii with their dad in 2023.
Fans have grown increasingly concerned for Spears’ mental health after her conservatorship was terminated in 2021.
Just last month, her loved ones became anxious for her after discovering that Spears was allegedly living in squalor, with her messy mansion covered in dog poop.
The “…Baby One More Time” singer, for her part, defended herself by writing on Instagram, “Shame on those who judged my home in my pajamas !!”
Spears has previously posted videos of herself dancing with “fake” knives on social media.
In 2023, TMZ founder Harvey Levin alleged in the doc, “Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom,” that she sleeps with a knife under her bed.
Meanwhile, Britney’s estranged sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, claimed in 2022 that her older sister once held a knife to her.
However, Britney denied the claim, writing on X, “I’ve never been around you ever with a knife or would I ever even think to do such !!!”
“The only knife I ever saw you with at home was cutting the biggest pieces of squash I ever saw in my life and it was way too big for me to cut,” she added.
Federline’s memoir is set to be released on Oct. 21.
