Sophie was all smiles at the event on Monday in a Zimmerman maxi dress. While Prince Edward was not present, Sophie was not the only royal in attendance as she was photographed with the Duke of Kent’s daughter, Lady Helen Taylor.
The event was one of many Sophie has attended recently, with one body language expert saying that the confidence she displayed is exactly what the Royal Family needs to take attention away from scandals such as those surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton said: “These are some of the best photos we have seen of Sophie in a long time. They show her to be so confident – not arrogant – but supreme confidence.
“There is no tension in her eyes, she has a genuine smile (laugh lines, raised cheeks, crows feet), her hands are loose, her hands aren’t interlocked, her shoulders and general posture is raised.
“All the signs point towards someone who is very socially adept and comfortable in her surroundings.
“This is exactly what the family needs, both her and Edward are being required to play bigger and bigger roles, and her confidence and comfort in these situations will help the slightly more nervous Edward play this role.”
The Royal Family have had a tough start to 2026 as a result of scandals surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his past friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
He was released the same day as his arrest, on February 19, under investigation.
Sophie has not personally commented on her brother-in-law’s situation.
