Khloe Kardashian has been the target of much backlash following her recent ‘Blackfishing’ incident, but before that, she found herself in the hot seat for another Khloud promotion
Khloe Kardashian found herself embroiled in controversy amid her promotion tour for her Khloud protein products long before her recent Blackfishing incident
Khloe, 41, stoked even more outrage after she posted an Instagram reel in February that many found very inappropriate because it featured her daughter True Thompson, 8, and niece Dream Kardashian, 9. In the video, True and Dream opened a PR box for the pickle-flavored Khloe’s Khloud protein chips, which debuted in February, while the Good American co-founder read from a card that appeared to contain a suggestive pickle joke.
However, Khloe didn’t filter what she read in front of the little girls at the time, which drew significant backlash on social media, with many branding the video “inappropriate” amid calls for it to be removed. This came after Khloe admitted that she still sees herself as “overweight.”

“Not all pickles rise to the occasion, but ours do,” Khloe read aloud in the video, comparing pickles to a phallus. Shortly after Khloe shared her video, Reddit exploded with many disapproving comments about Lamar Odom’s ex-wife’s post.
“Oh wow this is gross. Also F–KING STOP POSTING YOUR CHILDREN ONLINE,” one raged on Reddit, as another ranted, “That’s really inappropriate. What is she thinking? That should be taken down and khloe should know better.”
While a third scolded, “KHLOE should know better?? The same Khloe that made incest jokes and has the filthiest mouth ever?? Lol…”
Barely two months after this scandal, Khloe sparked even more criticism for her a recent billboard in Los Angeles. Khloe was on the billboard promoting her Khloud chips and looking so tanned that some mistook her for Black celebrities, including Beyonce, Keke Palmer, and Tyra Banks.
With Khloe’s photo depicting her complexion to be much darker than her natural skin tone, she’s been being heavily accused of Blackfishing, which is when someone intentionally tries to appear as if they’re mono-racially Black, or racially ambiguous.
A popular TikTok user intensified the scandal when they described Khloe to be Black directly in their video, claiming “She’s Khloé, and she’s Black, and she’s back!” while driving past the billboard in the clip, noting, “Black Khloé! Get your clout chips! I know that’s right.”
The TikTok video exploded on the platform, increasing more scrutinization after they video. Amid all of the commentary surrounding netizens comparing her to other Black celebrities people felt she looked like in the billboard, Khloe eventually weighed in on TikTok writing, “I’m crying [crying laughing emojis] what is going on.”
