Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 are set to be rereleased in theaters as a single film aptly named Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. This should come as no surprise since Quentin Tarantino has gone on record stating that he sees the incredible duology as a single film. While the film’s long duration might be off-putting for some fans, the film is also said to contain never-before-seen content.
The Film is set to release on December 5, 2025, boasting an astounding 258-minute runtime. While the film’s long duration might be off-putting for some fans, the movie is also slated to contain previously removed content. In addition to removing the cliff-hanger from Vol. 1 and the recap from Vol. 2, the highly anticipated rerelease will also feature a unique seven-minute animated sequence.
The animated sequence covers the character O-Ren Ishii’s backstory and was created by the notable anime studio, Production I.G., which is responsible for popular titles like Attack on Titan, Psycho Pass, and Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion. While the animated scene was originally screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006, it was noticeably absent from either of Kill Bill’s theatrical releases.
Although the scene can be seen on YouTube, it has not been included in the original film since the Cannes Film Festival. It is equally brilliantly animated and unforgivingly brutal, which fits perfectly with the tone of the overall film.
Either way, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is easily the quintessential version of the film, and there is no doubt that Tarantino fans will be flocking to their local theatres this December.
