Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s 12-year-old daughter has gotten a finger piercing that experts warn carries a “high risk” of infection.
The preteen, daughter of reality star Kim and rapper ex-husband Kanye, recently shared her new jewelry on social media. North West displayed her hand to the camera, featuring artificial nails painted black and two silver balls positioned on either side of her middle finger.
The skin surrounding her finger looked somewhat red and indented, suggesting the piercing is genuine.
On TikTok, the mother-daughter duo’s @kimandnorth account also revealed a needle penetrating North’s middle finger as she rested her hand on a paper towel.
Additional images show North’s hand sporting a sparkly blue manicure, adorned with a henna pattern and a large blue dermal gem inserted into her middle finger.
On Reddit, one user commented: “The potential for serious injury with this piercing is so unnecessarily high. Infection, rejection, nerve damage. A 12-year-old is not mature enough to care for this piercing responsibly. Oh my God, Kim.”
Another commenter remarked: “This isn’t self expression, she’s too young. But some cool punk/goth-looking rings, and if you still want to get surface piercings when you’re 18, go ahead. That’s gonna snag on something and get ripped out.”
Other users questioned: “Is this real?” while one observer noted: “Oh, this is going to get infected.”
An additional viewer commented, “Looking at this makes my finger hurt,” while someone else responded, “I was really hoping this was fake when I first heard about it.”
