This plea is something Harry, 41, wrote about in Spare.
It came about following Prince Philip’s funeral on April 17, 2021, where King Charles reportedly summoned his sons for a chat just the three of them at Windsor Castle.
According to Harry, Charles stood between his sons and said: “Please, boys. Don’t make my final years a misery.”
This plea came about a year after Harry quit royal life, and the brothers had reportedly started feeling the cracks in their relationship, especially following Harry and his wife Meghan’s Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021.
Despite both Harry and William having a lot of love for their father, it seems his plea still remains unmet, and if anything, the princes’ relationship with each other has worsened over the years.
This could make things difficult for King Charles, especially on Harry’s upcoming UK visit in July, as he will no doubt want to keep both his sons happy.
The monarch has refrained from ever talking about the state of his or Prince William’s relationship with Harry, who for the last six years has lived in Montecito.
