On Wednesday, Charles visited a community cinema in the Northern Ireland seaside resort of Newcastle. He toured the local attraction that has been staging screenings since 2009.
Following his visit, the King went on a walkabout to greet well-wishers who had gathered to see him.
As he chatted to the crowds, he was filmed asking them whether they were all from Newcastle.
A woman then told him she was from Jordanstown before saying she came to see him.
The King pulled a face, prompting laughter from the crowds, before she added: “I did.”
His Majesty then said cheekily, “You must have come here to do your shopping,” with the crowd erupting in fits of giggles.
Royal fans were quick to spot the sweet encounter, with one user writing on X: “King Charles loves his little jokes.”
Another one said: “He has jokes.”
A third one added: “So self-effacing. [heart emoji] #KingCharles God save the King.”
A fourth user commented: “Bless his humour.”
When the King first arrived, he was given a cinema ticket from the box office to mark his visit, printed with “VIP Guest”.
Organisers allow the cinema to be used for a range of events alongside movie screenings: from stand-up comedy to performances by community groups and martial arts activities.
They even hold KnitFlix nights where the audience is encouraged to knit, crochet or get crafting while watching a movie.
