Prince Harry Makes First Public Appearance After Confessions About Royal Family Rift
A royal reconciliation may be in the works.
Nearly three months after Prince Harry expressed hope that he and dad King Charles III could one day make amends following years of estrangement over his and Meghan Markle’s battle to restore security protection in the U.K., their senior aides were seen meeting in photos obtained by The Mail.
Indeed, Harry’s chief communications officer, Meredith Maines, was photographed with Charles’ communications secretary, Tobyn Andrae, at a private club in London near Buckingham Palace on July 13.
E! News has reached out to reps for Harry and Meghan, as well as Buckingham Palace for comment and has not yet heard back.
Harry’s relationship with Charles had been increasingly strained since he and the Suits alum—who share kids Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4—decided to distance themselves from the royal family in 2020 and move to Montecito, Calif.
Tensions only rose as Harry told the BBC in May that Charles refused to talk to him and Meghan amid the legal battle with the U.K. government over their security. Following the final ruling, he is ready to make amends with his family, especially amid Charles’ cancer battle.
