Andrew’s Epstein scandal has ‘brought us to a new low’ claims commentator (Image: AP)
King Charles was warned that the future of the monarchy is in “grave jeopardy” following the latest wave of humiliation for his disgraced brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The US Justice Department released more than three million new documents relating to the late convicted sex offender and US financier Jeffrey Epstein, many of which featured the former Duke of York.
Despite being mentioned in the Epstein files, which do not suggest any wrongdoing, Andrew’s association with him and the latest details to emerge have brought more shame on the royals, who have attempted to keep their distance from the scandal. Some of these documents included disturbing pictures of Andrew on all fours, kneeling over an identified woman on the floor at an undisclosed location and various others revealed the level of association he had with the US financier.
Now, a royal commentator has warned that the Royal Family will have a difficult time escaping from “the taint of Andrew” following the latest bombshells.

Andrew Norman Wilson, a columnist for the Daily Mail, said the latest pictures of the kneeling Andrew have “brought us to a new low” and that the phrase of Victorian journalist Walter Bagehot about the British monarchy – “We must not let daylight in upon the magic” – has never sounded “more ominous”.
He also claimed that there is not much more the King can do to Andrew, but the sting of his scandalous association with Epstein will live on.
Charles axed Andrew’s titles and honours last year, and the former Duke agreed to leave his Royal Lodge home in Windsor.
Mr Wilson said: “The revelations about Andrew, Fergie and Epstein are among the most devastating to happen not just to the Royal Family, but the monarchy itself.
“I believe it could be in grave jeopardy as a result.”
He added: “Fergie and Andrew’s greedy, coarse way of life – mercilessly exposed by the Epstein scandal – has done untold damage once again, and this time it could be mortal.”

The commentator added that the King, despite having cancer, has done “his utmost to keep the show on the road,” but his disgraced brother is making it “difficult”.
Mr Wilson concluded: “The seriousness with which he prepared for his Coronation was a sign of how much he wants us all to believe in the ‘magic’ still, for he knows that the monarchy’s survival depends on it.
“But Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, his appalling ex-wife and their disgusting late friend Epstein are making it impossible to believe in it any longer.
“They [the Royal Family] have all been tainted by the Epstein scandal. And it is an ongoing scandal, thanks to its political implications in the US, which will not go away. Indeed, things can get only worse.”
Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing and being mentioned in the Epstein files does not suggest any wrongdoing.
The former duke has not commented on the latest batch of files released.
