The Princess of Wales has been wished a very happy birthday by the King and Queen this morning. Posting on the couple’s official social media account, a sweet message read: “Happy Birthday to The Princess of Wales!” alongside a cake emoji.
A picture of a beaming Princess Catherine was shared in a heartfelt tribute from her milestone visit to Colchester Hospital in Essex, back in July 2025. Princess Catherine will likely carry extra emotional weight as she is celebrating her first cancer-free birthday since announcing her remission in January last year.
Fans of the princess also flooded the comments section with sweet birthday wishes after the palace shared a photo of the Princess of Wales. One wrote: “Happy birthday to our beautiful and beloved Princess of Wales.”
Another fan added: “A most gracious sentiment on this special day. Wishing Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales a very happy birthday, indeed. May it be a day filled with the warmth of family and the joy of quiet celebration.
“Her dedicated work in early childhood development and support for countless charitable causes continues to be a source of quiet inspiration. May the year ahead bring continued strength, health, and fulfilment.”
A third wrote: “Happy Birthday to the Royal Family’s main asset! Wishing her a serene and stressless year…”
King Charles message for Catherine on her 44th birthday comes a day after she and Prince William stepped out for their first royal engagement of 2026 on January 8.
The Prince and Princess of Wales both visited health workers at Charing Cross Hospital in London.
The future queen joined Prince William for the unannounced visit, which was their first public appearance since their Christmas Day church outing in Sandringham alongside other members of the Royal Family.
Later, Kensington Palace shared a message: “A huge thank you to NHS staff and volunteers at Charing Cross Hospital, and across the UK, whose tireless efforts continue to change lives, every single day. Proud to be Joint Patrons of @nhscharitiestogether and see how it makes a difference to the workforce and patients.”
