It looks like Kylie Jenner is dipping her toes into the music industry with the release of her first single “Fourth Strike,” but several people were not impressed with her latest endeavor.
Jenner, 28, shared some clips of her singing skills via Instagram on Monday, October 13, as well as pictures of herself in a sound booth. The tune featured The Kardashians star’s vocals over a pop beat as she sang in the bridge, “One strike, two strike, let me get the mood right / I just wanna tell you, ‘I’m sorry.’”
Jenner then whispered, “King Kylie,” the name the single is being released under.
However, many criticized the mom of two for the use of autotune in the song with one person writing via X, “I wish I was a billionaire so I can make computer music all day.”
Another added, “How embarrassing king autotune,” while a third commented, “Please unrelease this.”
The backlash from her music comes on the heels of Jenner getting slammed for being “completely out of touch” with her latest Kylie Cosmetics ad. As Globe previously reported, in the promo, Jenner is seen in handcuffs and being led down a corridor by two police officers. Many found the clip insensitive amid the Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids and protests occurring across the country.
“Citizens are being dragged off by rogue badge hungry rent-a-cops and Kylie Jenner drops a handcuffed hot-pants photoshoot to promote COSMETICS,” wrote one Redditor. “This isn’t satire; it’s American rot.”
Others described the ad as “unbelievably tone-deaf” and “insanely disgusting.”
Jenner has yet to address the controversy.
