First acting, now music?
It seems Kylie Jenner is looking to expand her résumé this year. Mere days after it was announced that the Khy founder would be making her acting debut in Charli XCX’s upcoming A24 movie, Jenner revealed that she also recorded her first-ever song, in collaboration with the pop duo Terror Jr.
For the track, titled “Fourth Strike,” Jenner revived her 2010s alter ego, “King Kylie,” which she revealed in a new Instagram post, shared at midnight: “AHHHHHH!!!!!! FOURTH STRIKE!!! terror jr ft KING KYLIE!!!!! OUT NOW EVERYWHERE! what is happening!!!”
King Kylie (a persona that, while loved by many fans, has been criticized for leaning into cultural appropriation), is a character Jenner embodied throughout the 2010s, notably in a 2016 video where she promoted her first line of Kylie Cosmetics lip kits.
This original clip was soundtracked by the Terror Jr. song “3 Strikes,” which led people to believe that Jenner was secretly singing in the song—but she wasn’t.
Now, in honor of her cosmetics brand’s 10th anniversary, and the release of the King Kylie Collection (out October 18), Jenner teamed up with Terror Jr. to actually make a song together.
“There was a little rumor 10 years ago that i was the one actually singing on 3 strikes! it wasn’t me (wish it was) so i had the idea to come together for fourth strike and it would actually be ME FEATURED!” Jenner wrote on Instagram.
