Kylie Jenner is opening up about one of the most physically difficult periods of her life, revealing that her pregnancy with son Aire became so medically complicated that she was placed on extended bed rest because the baby was “falling out” of her body.
During an appearance on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast released on Wednesday, May 13, Jenner said her second pregnancy was dramatically harder than her first. The 28-year-old explained that she was only 12 weeks pregnant when severe sciatica and lower back pain suddenly left her unable to walk. Jenner said the complications continued for months and eventually forced doctors to confine her to bed after she became dilated far earlier than expected.
“And lots of things were happening with my vagina,” Jenner said on the podcast. “I was three centimeters dilated for like a month and a half, two months, the baby was falling out.” According to Jenner, doctors instructed her to remain in bed because of the risk associated with the pregnancy.
Jenner has historically kept much of her pregnancy experience private, particularly during her first pregnancy with daughter Stormi Webster in 2018. Jenner famously disappeared from public view while expecting Stormi at age 19, later admitting she struggled emotionally with the pressure of public scrutiny and fear surrounding the announcement.
On Therapuss, Jenner contrasted the two pregnancies directly. She described carrying Stormi as comparatively easy, calling it a “breeze,” while Aire’s pregnancy came with intense nausea, mobility issues, and rapid weight gain. Jenner said she gained 65 pounds while pregnant with Aire and dealt with constant pain that sometimes prevented her from leaving bed entirely.
“I had crazy sciatica pain and crazy lower back pain,” Jenner explained, adding that she entered the pregnancy believing it would go smoothly because she was in the “best shape” of her life beforehand. Instead, she said she spent much of the pregnancy eating carbs and ice cream because severe nausea worsened when she didn’t eat enough.
The interview also revisited Jenner’s emotional state during her first pregnancy. She admitted she initially panicked after learning she was pregnant with Stormi and was terrified to tell her family. “I was freaking out. I was really scared,” she said, before explaining that she ultimately trusted her instincts and decided to move forward regardless of outside reactions.
Jenner also reflected on hiding her first pregnancy from the public entirely, saying she rarely left the house during that period and felt emotionally overwhelmed once the news finally became public. “I sobbed for three hours because it felt like so much weight on my shoulders,” she said.
