Kylie Kelce is loving Taylor Swift‘s new album The Life of a Showgirl.
On the latest episode of the Not Gonna Lie podcast on Oct. 9, the podcast host, 33, spoke about the album and revealed some of her favorite tracks from Swift’s new album, which includes several songs inspired by Kylie’s brother-in-law and the “The Fate of Ophelia” singer’s fiancé Travis Kelce.
“My favorites on the album are definitely ‘Wi$h Li$t,’ ‘Opalite,’ and, who are we kidding, ‘Wood,’ ” the mom-of-four revealed on the episode.
Kylie spoke more about the track “Wood” and said “Do I need that much detail about, specifically about my brother-in-law? Probably not. But also good job, Trav! That’s women supporting women.”
The track is considered the 35-year-old Grammy winner’s most explicit song off her new album, with lyrics like “Forgive me, it sounds cocky / He ah-matized me and opened my eyes” and “His love was the key that opened my thighs.”
What is ‘Wood’ About?
The “Opalite” singer spoke about the track “Wood” and other songs off the new album in The Life of a Showgirl: Track-by-Track Edition on Amazon Music and called it a “sentimental love song.”
“The song ‘Wood’ is about — it’s a love story about, you know, kind of using as a plot device superstitions, popular superstitions, good luck charms, bad luck charms, all these different ways that we have decided things are good luck or bad luck, like knocking on wood and seeing a black cat,” she explained. “And that is kind of the way that I’ve decided to explore this very, very sentimental love song.”
Travis Kelce’s reaction to the song ‘Wood’
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, shared his reaction to the track on the Oct. 8 episode of the New Heights podcast.
“How do you feel about ‘Wood?'” Travis’ brother and New Heightsco-host Jason Kelce asked him on the episode.
“It’s a great song,” Travis responded and Jason then pushed for more and asked, “Do you feel, do you feel—not confident—do you feel cocky about the song ‘Wood,'” referencing some of the lyrics.
Travis laughed and “No. Any song that she references me in is very…[specific].”
Jason then also took time to praise the track and said “That song’s great, though. The freaking beat to that song is fantastic and that’s right up my alley, so well done. I think it’s a great song. I think inserting wood innuendos is always childish enough for me that I can get on board with that.”
Travis Kelce responds to the internet’s reaction to ‘The Life of a Showgirl’
On New Heights, Travis said that “It’s been so fun to see everybody’s reactions. We’ve had an absolute blast. Watching her go through all of her press tour or radios and all these talk shows. She’s looked amazing, sounded amazing, and this album is absolutely amazing.”
He also revealed that his favorite song off the album is “Opalite” at the moment and added “Every time it comes on, I always catch myself [dancing to the beat].”
